Apollo Theater to livestream virtual benefit, featuring Dionne Warwick, Gary Clark, Jr. and Roy Woods, Jr.

Showtime at The Apollo will go on amid the coronavirus crisis.

This year, producers of the storied Harlem landmark will host its annual spring benefit online with a virtual presentation, titled “Let’s Stay (In) Together: A Benefit to Support the Apollo Theater,” on June 2 at 7:30 p.m. EDT.

The special musical event – showcasing guest artists performing the music of Apollo legends such as B.B. King, Patti LaBelle and Stevie Wonder, and highlighting the Apollo’s 86-year contribution to arts and culture – will be streamed live at apollotheater.org.

The evening will feature special appearances by Grammy Award-winning legend Dionne Warwick, hip-hop veteran Doug E. Fresh, and comedian Roy Wood Jr. alongside performances by Kool & the Gang, Gary Clark Jr., Robert Randolph, Michael McDonald, Keb Mo, Celisse Henderson, Lil Buck, and Ray Chew, and more.
