Cubadisco is an annual musical contest in Havana, one of the most important events of the Cuban music industry. Founded in 1997, it has become a showcase for the local culture. The main idea of the festival is to promote the genre of Cuban music. Along with concerts held at multiple locations in Havana, there are expositions, CD launches, and conferences. Over 2,500 music titles and live shows take place altogether during the festival.
